 Pastor/Teaching Pastor

Get to know Aaron, our fantastic pastor since 2015! He has an incredible knack for creating a warm and inviting space where everyone can ask questions and be their true selves. Originally from Buffalo, NY, Aaron earned his MDiv from Louisville Presbyterian Seminary, and he’s passionate about making the Bible come alive! By blending critical study, ancient traditions, and modern scholarship, he empowers our community with exciting and powerful insights!

Carolyn Shepard

Administrative Assistant

Carolyn Shepard has been Bethany’s administrative assistant since 2019. Before that, DSS employed her as a word processor and IT technician for twenty years. With a welcoming demeanor, Carolyn can assist you with any questions or direct you to individuals who can answer them. Carolyn enjoys trying new recipes, listening to audiobooks of the Bible, meeting new friends and interacting with the Bethany church family, and she is efficient and effective in all she does.   â€‹

Kathy is our talented church organist and choir director, dedicated to her role. She crafts music that enhances the season and day’s lessons, enriching our worship experience. Her passion inspires both the choir and congregation, making her a vital part of our church community.

Bethany Church in Wilmington NC is a member of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. and upholds the Reformed Tradition. Presbyterians believe that Jesus Christ made it clear in his teachings we have an ethical responsibility to engage in issues of social justice.  The PC (USA) encourages members to strive towards the alleviation of poverty, stopping violence, environmental protection, and seeking justice for all mankind.
